Press and Editorial Features
We live in a visual world. I feel so lucky that what i create is so widely used for so many magazines and visual projects form music to film to artistic expressions. Here I try to update regularly where my designs appear.
Jivomir Domoustchiev SS17 Collection Preview Hoodoo Street
For ss17 Jivomir Domoustchiev takes influence and inspiration for his collection from the costumes of different tribes of the Mardi Gras Indians of New Orleans. Having visited the city many times and calling it “his happy place” After many years of trying to find out more about this secretive society.. “ every time I would visited the city I would ask around and very few people could give me any real information about these tribes. “ I was an outsider… I fell in love with the idea of these individuals when I came across images and depictions in various parts of the city… The notion that they would spend all year making an outfit to wear but a few times around mardi gras and then destroy…mesmoriesed me.. the astonishing colors and detail and forever trying to outdo each other……Finally I managed to meet Sylvester Francis the curator of the Backstreet Cultural Museum.. He kindly showed me around his collection of different Indian suits… also showing patches of detail explaining how the outfits are made… I hope one day to spend more time helping create some of there suits…..
“With this collection I have taken a visual inspiration.. created in my own way with my own sensibility ... perhaps helping raise awareness to the beauty and cultural heritage of these wonderfully creative people..”
A modern deeply personal interpretation.. each outfit is made up of a number of collectable pieces which when used together show the grandeur and dandiness of his inspiration… JIvomir’s sculptural signature still visible, heavy studding and bold transparent colors prevail… echoing horse bridle harnessing elements mixed with overtly sexy, center stage, flashiness..Photography: Aris Akritidis

Jivomir Domoustchiev Interview for King Kong Magazine
Over fashion week a was approach by Mikel from King Kong Magazine about doing an interview for there online section... having had some of my work featured in the print issue 2 and absolutely loving the approach of the magazine i was flattered and very excited. I had just returned from New York where i had met and done a personal project, a set of photographs with this wonderful young photographer Alberto Maria Colombo.. I had followed his work for a while and when we had the opportunity to work together the result was these stunning mesmerising images modelled by the wonderful Ragnhild Jevne. There was no-one else but us three on set and it was quite magical.. Somehow Mikel for King Kong had seen these images and they complemented my interview perfectly... if you would like to read the whole interview pls go to http://www.kingkongmagazine.com/fashion/jivomir-domoustchiev/
Here is a small extract:
Your online shop only sells the accessories. Are the full looks not purchasable?
Yes the full looks are available, there is a bespoke section on the website where all of it is available to order, they just take longer to make. I have also done a lot of private commissions which I can never show. I have been doing a lot of collaborative work lately, the results of which will soon be published. Many pieces differ from my press collection but they are available to purchase upon request....
