For London Fashion Week this season I chose to collaborate with one of the greats. Dr Noki One of my closest friends but also one of the true trailblazers, the true innovator the one that started the repurposing reimagining revolution and the drive to customise and in tern repurpose fashion so it may last and take on new lives.
I came across Noki's work during my collage days, my early styling days. On the pages of ID and Dazed and The Face ... It was such a defined and almost spiritual approach to modernity and fashion. Born in the streets of East London where i studied and brought to life and inspired by the club kids of our generation. Noki is by far the most imitated of brands especially lately where brands try to jump on their customers environmental concerns and the need to deal with huge amounts of over production. Dr Noki foresaw this from way back when and has never deferred from there true vision to create by reinventing with a pure message of what is really most important to us all... Having spent years admiring their work we are now best of friends so it is only natural to collaborate on their latest show. What an honour. They asked me to create a number of builds to go under shredded Noki Zine's. Pushing the silhouette further I had to only use offcuts and pattern test which as always I keep and collect for just such opportunities. Also for the collab with JBL speakers freedom to approach as I wish. Finishing off with custom @JBand and Visors. Thanks for having me.
The show was styled by the wonderful Kim Howells with hair by Nick Irwin for Schwarzkopf Pro
What a pleasure to be part of this pure future movement.....
